Updated: April 27, 2018

TheHouseShop have confirmed there are over 145 individual laws and more than 400 regulations for landlords to follow and comply with in the private rental sector making it difficult for landlords to let property without the aid of expert advice. A survey conducted by TheHouseShop suggest that almost one in five landlords admit it is ‘impossible’ to keep up with the ever changing legislation and a further 30% of landlords saying it is ‘very difficult’ to keep up to date and compliant.

Kate West, Divisional Lettings Director comments ‘The Government is keen to implement new and changing legislation to ensure standards of the private rental sector are increased’ Kate continues ‘Whilst this is good news for the sector it can be a minefield for self-managing landlords to keep up to speed and compliant’

Goadsby pride themselves on ensuring they keep their landlords up to date and compliant and Kate urges any landlords looking to let their properties, or landlords that already have tenants in situ, to contact her for advice and to discuss how Goadsby can ensure they remain legally compliant.
